Law firms need a cultural shift from “transaction-based” to "relationship-based"
Law firm culture is a subject of much debate but changing mindsets and attitudes that have been ingrained in people’s and indeed organisations’ psyche for decades is incredibly difficult.
While many believe cultural change is a good aspiration – against a backdrop of new market entrants, a new generation of lawyers coming into the profession, and technological development – changing mindsets and attitudes that have been ingrained in people’s and indeed organisations’ psyche for decades is incredibly difficult.
The traditional definition of culture is changing too. Today, culture defines everything from how firms deal with human resource, innovation and client experience through to information security, governance and technology.
Many of the top firms are leveraging emerging technology (e.g. AI, Blockchain) to develop new products and services to help themselves stand out from the crowd, but research shows that client experience is fast emerging as the key point of differentiation. To achieve this, a cultural shift is needed.
